Did you know that an average of 90 burglaries are reported in Eden Prairie each year? Approximately 67 percent of all reported burglaries take place at residences and 63 percent of residential burglaries occur during daylight hours when residents are not at home. Home burglaries also tend to rise in the summer months when people are more likely to keep their garage doors open.
The EPPD is trying to reduce that number by offering free security surveys to residents of Eden Prairie. The survey is conducted by Eden Prairie police officers who have received specialized training from the State of Minnesota and the National Crime Prevention Association. The survey is a one hour in-depth examination of your home and will provide you with a recommendation of steps you can take to better secure your home. To schedule a survey please contact the EPPD at 952-949-6200.
