The EPPD has an amazing group of dedicated volunteer Chaplains who provide spiritual comfort to residents and emergency responders involved in critical incidents. The seven Chaplains take turns wearing pagers and responding to car accidents, crime scenes, house fires or other incidents when the sergeant on duty deems it necessary.
Yesterday those Chaplains were the guests of honor at the annual Chaplain Appreciation Luncheon hosted by the Eden Prairie Police and Fire Departments. While all the Chaplains were recognized for their commitment to serving the community, Father Tim Power and Pastor Jim McCracken were given special recognition for the 20 years they have each spent as Eden Prairie Chaplains. Both men have been with the Chaplain program since it started in 1992.
We are fortunate to have such caring individuals in our community who are willing to provide a ministry of presence when we need it.
