Puppies and Police

Last week the Police Department received an unusual and fun request from Helping Paws, a non-profit organization that breeds, trains and places assistance dogs with people who have physical disabilities, and veterans with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Helping Paws reached out to the EPPD because they wanted two of the puppies who are currently being trained to become service dogs to those who suffer from PTSD to meet people in uniform.

Several of our officers were more than happy to take a few minutes out of their busy days to hang out with these adorable pups and assist Helping Paws with their meaningful work.
