With the retirement of Lt. Jim Morrow last week, the EPPD promoted two employees effective September 30.
Matt Sackett was promoted to lieutenant after serving as a sergeant in Eden Prairie for the past 11 years. He was hired in 2002 after serving as an officer for the City of Hopkins for five years. During his tenure with the EPPD, Lt. Sackett has worked as an officer, patrol sergeant, investigations sergeant and support sergeant. He has been instrumental in several major technology initiatives including upgrades to the department’s records software. In his new role Lt. Sackett will supervise the Support Division.
Ron Henke was promoted to sergeant after serving the department since July 2004. While at the EPPD, Sgt. Henke has worked as a patrol officer, Commercial Vehicle Inspector, SWAT team member and Field Training Officer. Sgt. Henke will spend 3-4 weeks in sergeant field training before working on his own.
