Raksha Run/Walk to End Distracted Driving Aug. 11

Each year in Minnesota, distracted driving is a factor in one in four crashes, resulting in at least 70 deaths and 350 serious injuries.

In Eden Prairie on Saturday Aug. 11, you can help bring an end to distracted driving by simply walking around Purgatory Creek Park with hundreds of other concerned citizens at the 2018 Raksha Run/Walk for Distraction-Free Driving.

The event benefits the Shreya R. Dixit Memorial Foundation which was started in memory of Shreya R. Dixit, an Eden Prairie resident who was killed in a distracted-driving crash while on her way home from college in 2007. The Foundation’s mission is “to raise awareness of distracted driving, educate our community on safe and distraction-free driving, and encourage drivers to be mindful of the safety of other drivers and passengers on the road.”

The event will take place at Purgatory Creek Park, located at 13001 Technology Drive in Eden Prairie. Participants can register online for the Raksha Run/Walk.
