Last week two EPPD sergeants were awarded the Trilogy Award from the FBI-LEEDA (Law Enforcement Executive Development Association). Sgt. Jess Irmiter and Sgt. Lonnie Soppeland earned the award by completing three weeklong courses in Supervision, Command and Executive Leadership. Sgt. Bob Davis previously received the award and several other sergeants are in process of taking the courses.
EPPD sergeants play a critical role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the police department. The twelve sergeants in the EPPD are responsible for coaching and managing personnel, supervising shifts and critical incidents, and serving as the communication link between line personnel and the command staff.
Sending them to the FBI-LEEDA courses is a way to invest in our staff and provide them with the tools they need to perform at the highest possible level. We congratulate Sgts. Irmiter, Soppeland and Davis on their accomplishment.
