Well this has been quite a week for news in Eden Prairie. We got the wonderful news of being selected as Money magazine’s Best Place to Live in America on Monday. Then on Tuesday we learned that Tyco Electronics had purchased Eden Prairie’s ADC Telecommunications for $1.25-billion in cash. Convincing ADC to build their headquarters here in the late 1990s/early 2000s was a big coup for Eden Prairie. It’s sad to think the company might abandon their beautiful building and depart from the community. City staff are studying this issue right now to figure out what the impact of this move might be on Eden Prairie and what might happen next.
